Chiaku Obioha

Biography of Chiaku Obioha (née Obioha).
Chiaku Obioha Akanihu was born in
1914.She was the 4th child of Obioha
Akanihu and Nne Mgbokwo Adonu out of 5
siblings.
She was educated upto secondary school
level.at Mary Slessor School for girls
Calabar. She went into teachers training in
Calabar but did not continue as she met
her husband Mr PC Obioha who was then
teaching at Hope Waddle college Calabar.
They later got married in 1934 and were
blessed with 5 Children 2 boys and 3
girls. The couple spoke Efik language.
fluently. The husband pursued a career in
sanitation and they lived in Enugu until he
retired.as a chief Sanitory Inspector. The
family moved to Lagos in1959.Chiaku
suddenly took ill and died in 1963 at the
age of 49 yrs at the University teaching
hospital Ibadan.She was survived by the
husband and 5 children.
